The book of common prayer was published in 1662 and transformed the English language going forward. This awareness of the richness of our language was amply demonstrated by the 23 members present who participated in a lively meeting.
The Performance League
Paul Booth is the current leader followed in joint second place by Simon Essex and Kevin Radford a couple of points behind.
Education Presentation
It was Toby Acton who this week pointed out the opportunity to make a pitch when someone asks “How’s Business?”. “Not too bad” just doesn’t cut it, Tell the enquirer the areas you are currently involved in and how you have the capacity for more.
Membership Matters
Terry Maylin confirmed that Dean Caldon has renewed his membership for another year. This might be his 7th year and still as fresh-faced and youthful as the day he joined.
The 60 Second Round
Simon Essex was our Oscar adjudicator as he continues to demonstrate his unbridled enthusiasm for his new venture at The Greenhouse.
Highlight of the week was Sarah Steel’s visit to Grimsby…. and returning apparently unscathed. Many many years ago, when I lived there they had a fishing fleet. Now they want to know about pensions as its pension week such was also on Howard Bullock’s mind when he followed Sarah. If you think Sarah Steel has an exciting life what about Sarah Bell, clutching her passport she is going to Canvey Island.
Simon Ben Golding was into poaching. Bulb Energy have put up their prices without telling their clients. Point Bulb customers his way. He was so excited by this prospect that he got out his pink piggy, even got it to honk.
Stuart Smallcombe has his profile on Linked in, please comment on his new materials. And for heaven’s sake like him, even love him if you must.
Richard Reed is putting his toes into the troubled waters of holidays abroad. They are out there.
Alan Moller looked much more relaxed on a sofa than in the van.
Scott Griffiths has found the perfect gift for his son…..a snake. Charming!
Quote of the week from Mason Edwards He is getting sick of being in the office and is looking forward to “getting his hands down a toilet again” so let’s get out there and find him a toilet near you.
And the Oscar went to Sarah. That’s Sarah of Canvey rather than Sarah of Grimsby, Well done Sarah Bell.
Meeting Secretaries Report
Scott Griffiths reported two new members of our Lottery Syndicate and keep your eyes open for a Zoom Social.
Synergy Team Report
Paul Booth reported that the Finance Group got physical on Tuesday in a socially distanced sort of way.
