Chairman’s Business Networking Blog, Thursday 23rd June 2016
The rain was biblical in proportions as if the Gods were sneering at British humans holding something called a referendum and daring to think it might be important.
23 people fought through the deluge to Mary Green Manor for something far more important……a meeting of EBF.
Matt Barry’s first meeting as a member was accordingly auspicious. Scott Griffiths was in the lead in the Performance league.
David Plumley was held up by the deluge but arrived in time to deliver an Education slot that drew our attention to the significance of flyers that come through our door from tradesmen seeking business. They are an ideal source of potential visitors. So next week bring along all relevant flyers and we will look at them collectively. I think David was unsure of the reception he was likely to get, as he delivered his homily from the stairs. That or he was still badly affected by the floods!!!
The fate of the nation was also given passing reference in the 60 second round.
Dean mixed it up with the “Euros” which was far more interesting. Alan Shaw, after asking to be referred to Funeral Parlours uttered the memorable “……….euuuuuuuu….” and then sat down. Single handedly he carried the School of Whimsy this week.
Jo Jones is still looking for someone to massage on a Wednesday……come on guys!!!!!
Marcelle showed us a diamond the size of a tennis ball; Michael Adelissi maintained the sporting theme ,referring to Boxing but this was in relation to pipes in a wet room.
Paul Booth won the Oscar because he gave everyone Booth and Co. pens. This was not a prop……just simple bribery.
The numbers were good this week; in excess of £10,000 business recorded and 24 referrals.
There will be a new synergy team sexily named “Creative and Tech”. It will meet on the first Thursday of the month after our breakfast meeting. If you aspire to be either creative or tech come along….why not come along anyway!!!!
The stand in for the Ten minute presentation was none other than the star of the naughty corner, Howard Bullock. His grasp of his business and the services offered was vastly superior to his grasp of the projecting hardware but there had been a lot of rain and his technical assistant, the rain affected Plumley, were relevant factors. Good clear financial advice as always.
For those of you who have not done so yet check my email on the visit to Hyde Hall and try to be there.
I’m missing you already….I’ll see you in two weeks time.
Thanks Aidan – another INteresting and entertainINg blog entry. I’m looking forward to the new Synergy team which David has already nicknamed the “Arty Geeks”.
Dont forget to go and vote… and remember – to ease the expected congestion it is voting today if you want to remain IN, and voting tomorrow if you want to leave.
Ye old master Squire has returned to his best form . I almost thought I was there. Great blog Aidan ,enjoy your holiday but as your insurance broker I would urge you (and everyone else ) never announce on any form of social media that you are away. (even if someone is staying in your house)
It’s not just a pen – it’s the Booth & Co Referral generator but it’s nice to see simple bribery win over far better 60 seconds. Great meeting as always.
Scott!! that’s a straight Red Card for trying to tamper with votes to be cast, nay I do beLEAVE it to be a criminal offence – expect a visit from the long arm of the law any minute.
Considering the conditions and traffic issues it was an excellent turn out today with Paul being a deserved winner for his team working and prop’s laden 60 seconds.
Over and OUT.
Excellent turnout- lets hope the referendum gets a similarly good turnout…
looking forward to a guest next week -office supplies and promotional goods..
I’m hopeful for at least one guest too. Fingers crossed. The more people we can get into the group the more powerful and effective it becomes for us all.
Great to be back. A good turnout with plenty of humour and good buiness passed. Howard was OUTstanding
Jolly good meeting all, shame I had to shoot early and miss Howard’s masterpiece. See you all next week
With his Booth & Co Referral Generator-inator, that evil Dr Booth could soon take over the outer Brentwood area!
Wait! What is that flying across the sky? It seems to be wearing some sort of pale blue jumper. It must be Captain Plumley!!!
We’re saved!
Not forgetting Carmel’s outstanding In Line Building 60 second too 😉 Great meeting and do all check your diaries for the picnic date – I’m campaigning for 25th!
good to see you all had a great meeting and I was there , somewhere.
Kevin
Mornings peeps, another great meeting yet again despite the appalling traffic conditions, count me in for the 25th too. Have a great weekend, see you all next week, b and b!
Well done, Mr. Booth for winning yet another bottle of vino but will Ubergrossenfuhrermissjones permit you sample it? Great result innit?
