5 Visitors namely, Sarah-Jane Ferris, Charlie Mason, Jade McLaren and Alan Pop, and Julia McClean swelled our numbers to 28. This is the biggest attendance for some time and created a really lively and busy meeting.
Education Presentation
It was David Plumley himself who delivered this weeks little piece of knowledge. With 5 visitors with us, he explained the importance of various aspects of EBF, top of the list being attendance…useful.
Performance League
January’s league was won by Jill Willis with 318 points. Congratulations Jill.
New Member Induction
Yes, we had was the first of what will be 3 inductions; Vincent Goode received his certificate his badge and his folder.
The 60 Second Round
Marcelle Saad was not only talking engagement rings but her male model, Kevin Brooks, walked around the group showing off rings, 3 in number, all on one finger. An exciting start to the 60 second round.
There was something of a theme which could best be described as “why use me?”. Richard Reed used it, so did Mike Rogers, Stuart Smallcombe suggested it, particularly if you want superfast broadband.
Terry Maylin warned landlords should use him for making sure they get their notices right. This and recent changes in the law could have them turning up in court and being told to start again. My theme was similar to Terry’s but referred to commercial leases and the pitfalls for the unadvised client.
The School of Whimsey, however, was far more unfocused. Alan Shaw has been out this week in bad weather doing measuring. Nick Cooke explained that his 60 seconds was going to be a “quickie”…Actually it wasn’t as vulgar as that. He talked about “a quick one”…class! Brian Painter was chasing smokers. His reference to smoking giving you health/looks/money was delivered in tones heavy with sarcasm. He said that smokers needed a kick up the ash I couldn’t resist it, he got the Oscar.
Finally Tina Walker pointed out that she has 30 years of experience. It is the considered opinion of certain members that have used Tina Walker that our spring chicken must have started early.
This weeks statistics and points of note
- 23 Members present
- 5 visitors
- 19 referrals
- £44,400.00 of business recorded.
- Scott Griffiths birthday today positively made him a “forty something”.
- Vincent Goode is our newest member
10-minute presentation by Cathy Neat
It was Cathy Neat’s turn and she sang the praises of the Willow Centre. Having recognised from the 60 second round the value of Kevin Brooks as a male model she got him dressed up in an apron; it was designed for people with dementia…good choice Cathy. She gave all of us an insight into the Willow Centre and some of the other activities that they indulge in. She demonstrated what a useful member of the group she is.
Plenty of referrals and thank yous for the money.
By the time the referrals round was complete we had a clear blue sky to look out on. Let’s try and keep up the numbers of visitors and members present at the next meeting.
An excellent meeting, welcome Vincent and good to see so many visitors. PS I’d like to add i like the new chairs and I think the new venue is working out very well.
Once I had deciphered Scott’s opening I read the blog! We have said it many times and that is the bigger the attendance the bigger the buzz in the meeting and that was so this week. Let’s hope we get some new members from the visitors.
Great to see a crowded room. A really positive feel to the whole meeting and good example to our honoured guests. PS I think the spell check on the blog is set to US English.
Thank you for welcoming me to the group, I hope to get to know each of you in the coming weeks.Have a great weekend, Vincent Goode, Speedprint
Very good meeting and great to see Vince joining, lets all work on getting him some referrals and get to know him in 1-2-1s. Excellent 10 minutes from Cathy Neat very professional just like her business, also good to see 5 visitors, i hope you come back and consider joining us.
A Busy, Buzzy, Bunch of Business Boffins all in one room…
Great meeting
There was certainly a real buzz about the place this week, as was said previously it’s all about attendance!! How could anyone attend our meetings and not come away impressed by what they hear, see and “feel” compared to other lesser options??
Welcome to Vince who should thrive with the synergies amongst our members and what an excellent 10mts from Cathy.
