On the performance league Terry Announced that for the shortened month of December Nick Cooke won the December performance league and he was heartily congratulated for it.
Education Presentation
Scott gave an excellent education slot explaining that a new social media initiative is being undertaken to promote the group and particularly to look for guests for the vacant categories and also that up to 15 individual members will also be promoted each month with the top 15 from the performance league being those that are promoted- a good reason for members to push themselves as high up the performance league as possible by doing those things that gain you points!
New Member Induction & Existing Member Renewal
On the membership news front Terry Maylin confirmed that Paul Corrigan has now been with us a year and after due consideration the membership committee voted unanimously to renew his membership and Terry reminded Paul that he is now eligible to apply for the mark of excellence.
Scott kicked off the next part of the meeting and announced that we are going to nominate the next person, rather than work our way through a list- which always ensures that members have to listen up.
The 60 Second Round
Tina Walker kicked us off as she was awarding the Oscar and she likened what she does to peeling an onion- not that she makes you cry but there are lots of layers to what she does.
Paul Booth reminded us all that our Self assessment tax returns are due shortly and that his company still have room for a few more clients to do theirs.
Joshusa Ayettey told us that he needs to get in at the very early stages of a clients project for the design and then planning stages before any work can begin.
Still on the property side, Leann Reason reminded us that she can do what Phil and Kirsty do on Love it or list it and help you love your house again by clever and careful design.
Paul Dulieu reminded us that he is about to undertake his training to be a celebrant as although this is not strictly necessary he wants to do it to be the best he can be.
Paul Corrigan told us that his company are offering a 10% discount on works this month and in addition with every boiler service they are offering a free home survey of the plumbing system in the house to boot.
Scott told us about a relatively inexpensive marketing initiative that he can assist with including social media and google business posts.
Shannon standing in for Clara Downton told us that this year will be “interesting” in terms of interest rates!
Finally Howard wants clients to contact him before the end of the financial year so that they can use up this years investment allowance with Isa’s and pension contributions top of his list.

Paul Dulieu introduced this weeks 10 minute speaker Terry Maylin at TM Law.
Terry then told us about the personal injury work that he enjoys doing and the reasons why he gets satisfaction from not only getting a proper award of compensation for his clients but also as much rehabilitation as possible so that they can get their lives back on track after life changing injuries.
