19 ventured out, 17 members and 2 guests one of whom might well be a member by this time next week. No one was on the road, or even in a vehicle, but before the meeting was over John Hammond was.
The Performance League
Sarah Steel has jumped to the front ahead of Toby Acton and Tina Walker. Todays meeting is the last of this month, and so its the final chance to change any numbers and next week lets see who the winner is…
Membership Matters
Terry Maylin was slightly secretive. There is a possible new member and a renewal. To find out more you will have to come back next week!
Education Presentation
Ben Golding remains in incommunicado but Toby was ready. He posed the question “why do people buy from you?” He showed us a “sales funnel”. It all begins with awareness and goes on from there. “Don’t neglect existing contacts” is a useful mantra. As always Toby was insightful and informative.
The 60 Second Round
Congratulations to all on a well-disciplined round which saw us honouring the 60 second time constraint
Tina Walker was awarding the Oscar this week and accordingly set the ball rolling. She’s been supporting various members this week.
Dean Caldon and Nick Cooke both reflected on the buoyant state of the housing market. Houses are flying off the shelves up to the £700,000.00 mark and Nick is starting to do structural reports for house buyers as opposed to house converters. Nick is also now the self-appointed Chief Happiness Officer to the group.
Toby Acton is trying to get business mums, who currently have their kids around them all of the time, to refocus. This appears to involve “deep dive sessions” It’s all very well in the summer when the water is warm but……
Paul Booth on the other hand has picked up new businesses from wives running profitable on line eBay selling.
Simon Essex, having changed his business model for a new one, has been doing virtual recruitment for Mason Edwards and is looking for more. Richard Reed on the other hand has been doing it for 19 years and is looking for more holidays especially in the UK.
Nathan Howson is applying snagging lists to his own business but it was Scott Griffiths who won the Oscar by urging us to examine “how big: and “how to grow biggest” in relation of course to our Google business profile.
This weeks statistics and points of note
Scott was with us again to give us the heads up on various statistics. As a group we average 81 referrals per month and last month produced referrals with an average value of £552.00
10-minute presentation by Matt Barry
I know Matt Barry is a graphic designer and should know how to present things visually. Well, he does and today’s presentation was outstanding.
Did we know that his initial career choices included the Army and the Priesthood? These were each represented by what looked like action man suitably attired. He went on to visually demonstrate that he made the right career choice. Watch him again on the recording, its well worth your
time.
Referrals and Testimonials
By this time John Hammond had gone mobile, Howard Bullock, who had gone AWOL re-joined us and magically John Freeman appeared from nowhere. The round demonstrated good business being done and rounded the meeting off nicely.

I’m sorry I couldn’t join you. Was busy fending off torrential rain in beautiful Castle Combe. I’ll see you next Thursday for a 10 minute extravaganza. That’s my opinion, it probably won’t be yours.
